Until Next Winter...

- outfit details -
faux leather jacket || JCPenney (old)
zip-up hoodie || Target (old)
tee || H&M
jeans || Old Navy
ankle boots || Forever 21
hat || H&M
lips || Revlon Lip Butter "Sugar Plum"
nails || Essie "Turquoise & Caicos"

So this will probably be my last post about winter outfits for a while - or at least the last one that I'll be posting on here until later this year - 'cause let's face it, in Oklahoma, it wouldn't be a stretch for us to get snow in March! We've had BEAUTIFUL weather the past several days, and I pray it's here to stay! Working with layers and winter accessories has been great, but I'm looking forward to shifting my inspiration and creativity to spring/summer! If you're like me and feel weird about reaching for super bright colors until we're closer to spring's official start date, then go with grays, tans, creams, denim, etc. I've been wearing gray quite a bit recently and created a similar monochromatic look as this post's outfit in this post from last month.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm looking forward to a great weekend and hope you have a great one too! :)

Monochromatic {Gray Edition}

- outfit details -
jacket || H&M (last year)
tee || Target
jeans || Old Navy
boots || Forever 21 (last fall)
clutch || J.Crew (old)
necklace || Forever 21
rings || Forever 21
nail color || Revlon "Fearless"
lip color || MAC "Shanghai Spice"

One of my go-to style tricks for creating an effortless, clean look is to wear the same color on top and bottom (the monochromatic trend - also seen here) and bring in one or two other colors through a jacket, shoes, accessories, etc. If you're trying the monochromatic trend for the first time, grays and other neutral colors are a good place to start!

Thanks for stopping by! Not sure if I'll get another post up this week or not because it's my husband's birthday week! :) I should have some posts ready for next week though!

Mono-Mint

Coat: Macy's (similar)
Sweater: H&M
Pants: Forever 21
Scarf: Nordstrom
Bag: Steve Madden (via Ross)
Heels: Charlotte Russe
For me, wearing black head-to-toe seems to be the most common (and least intimidating!) execution of the monochromatic trend. I am, however, starting to experiment with other colors! First up? Mint

Wearing one color head-to-toe is very flattering on nearly all figures. Don't worry about pairing pieces in the exact same shade of a certain color - in fact, it's sometimes better to have variating shades, especially if you're going with a brighter color. Add a few neutral accessories and your monochromatic look is complete!

Tomorrow I'm excited to share some photos from the adorable "tea party" bridal shower my aunt and grandmothers threw for me this past weekend, so I hope you'll come back to check it out!

Thanks for reading!
