{Dressed Up} Boyfriend Jeans

- outfit details -
top || Ross
jeans || Target
heels || Charlotte Russe
clutch || J. Crew
watch || Michael Kors
lip color || Cover Girl Lip Perfection "Hot"

I'm surprised it's taken me this long to jump on the "distressed boyfriend jeans" train. I see them pop up on fashion blogs and the "street style" section of magazines all the time and always think to myself how much I like how they look, but it was one of those trends I was hesitant to try myself. My go-to jeans style has always been the "skinny jeans", occasionally mixing things up with my "flare jeans". I can already tell though that I'm going to be looking for an excuse to wear these jeans A LOT. I love the versatility of how they can be styled, plus they really are comfortable! My favorite way to style them so far is contrasting the distressed, edgy feel of the jeans with "dressed up" accents like a lace-collared blouse and a pair of strappy heels.

Thanks for stopping by! Inconsistent Oklahoma weather plus crazy schedules between my husband and I put a delay on posts for the past month, but I'm working to get back into a more consistent posting schedule! Have a great day!

My mom recently surprised me with an early birthday present - the cute chevron top pictured above! I'm grateful that even though I'm about to turn 24, my mom still buys clothes for me and thinks of me when she's out shopping :). I'm not the only one in my family with a September birthday though - my mom, dad, and brother all have birthdays this month too! My husband and I threw my parents a joint-birthday party over this past weekend to celebrate both of them turning 50 this year - such a fun evening! I'll be sharing a post with all the party decorations and details later this week, so stay tuned!

style tip || Look for great "necklace and heels" combos - you can pair them with a variety of tops and bottoms and always have a pulled together look!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Leopard Love

Yet another post showcasing my love for Target. I wasn't kidding when I said their fall line is amazing! I spotted (no pun intended) this blazer a few weeks ago and knew it would be another great staple in my fall wardrobe. Though a seemingly bold piece at first glance, I actually find this lightweight leopard blazer to be very versatile. I look forward to styling it in a variety of ways utilizing varying color schemes. (*For some reason I couldn't find the link for this blazer on Target's website - not sure if they've already sold out? I have, however, still seen it in-store the last few times I've been over the past couple of weeks.)

Ironically, incorporating new Target pieces into my fall wardrobe has reminded me of previous Target pieces I've acquired over the past year or two that have become proven staples in my overall wardrobe (the black top and cobalt pants from the outfit above). Once a Target girl, always a Target girl!

Red, Black & Blue

- outfit details -

lips || MAC "Ruby Woo"

My love for Target continues! When I came across this cobalt tunic-style top, I knew it would be another staple in my fall wardrobe (also available in black and white). Cobalt is on trend for this fall and universally flattering; the tunic-style can work with both jeans/pants or leggings.

Also, I've been on the hunt for a pair of ankle-strap heels and was excited to find both an affordable and stylish pair at Charlotte Russe recently. I like this pair because it will work well for fall/winter because of the pointed, closed toe. I like the open-toe version of this heel as well (throughout the summer I've seen that style on many of the blogs I follow), but I will most likely wait until spring before I incorporate that particular style into my outfits. (I'm a fan of practicality and timing when it comes to adding to my wardrobe!)

style tip || Match shoe color, lip color & nail color to create an overall polished look!

Have a lovely weekend! Thanks for reading!

Here's some "peplum & polka dot" inspiration for Labor Day! I hope everyone can enjoy a relaxing day off! Oh, and if you're looking to add some fashionable pieces at affordable prices to your fall wardrobe, I highly recommend checking out Target. I'm SUPER impressed with their fall line right now.

If you've been following my blog for any length of time, you'll notice that I'm a pretty budget-conscious girl when it comes to clothes. Many of the fashion blogs I follow showcase clothes from stores & brands I rarely buy from, if ever. For my current stage in life, I simply find it hard to justify spending hundreds of dollars on certain styles when I can recreate such similar looks for so much less!

For example, the following sequined top featured on Pink Peonies (one of my favorite blogs for inspiration!) last week is from All Saints

On the website, that top is currently on sale for $181 (originally $258). The sequined top I'm wearing in this post was on sale for $5 at Forever 21 at the end of this past winter. So for anyone who ever feels frustrated over a small clothing budget, it IS POSSIBLE to stay fashionably current without spending even close to a fortune! Shopping at the right stores at the right time can do wonders for a budget-conscious wardrobe!

Also, before I conclude this post, I have to give a shout-out to my amazing, handsome husband, REED! :) He is the photographer behind the majority of my posts & is unbelievably supportive of me in every way! I love & adore him! Yesterday marked 2 months of marriage for us! :)

As always, thanks for stopping by! I encourage you to follow this blog, share your feedback on the posts & invite your friends to come visit! Have a blessed day!
