Classic With A Twist

- outfit details -

A quick post for Friday! I love a great button-down shirt - it's a classic that never goes out of style. This particular button-down shirt immediately caught my eye at Target a few months ago because it combined several of my current favorites - sequins, plaid/gingham, and the color red. It's always fun to find a classic with a twist! Target lists this shirt as "Merona Women's Favorite Shirt" on their website, and I tend to agree. There's a lot of versatility with this shirt, but my favorite way to style it is with a simple pair of black skinnies and some fun leopard booties - it's a great balance of mixing prints and adding a touch of femininity and glam. Also, I like this shirt a lot more when I button the top button - because of the sequin collar, it just adds another element of chicness to the overall look.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Red, Black & Blue

My love for Target continues! When I came across this cobalt tunic-style top, I knew it would be another staple in my fall wardrobe (also available in black and white). Cobalt is on trend for this fall and universally flattering; the tunic-style can work with both jeans/pants or leggings.

Also, I've been on the hunt for a pair of ankle-strap heels and was excited to find both an affordable and stylish pair at Charlotte Russe recently. I like this pair because it will work well for fall/winter because of the pointed, closed toe. I like the open-toe version of this heel as well (throughout the summer I've seen that style on many of the blogs I follow), but I will most likely wait until spring before I incorporate that particular style into my outfits. (I'm a fan of practicality and timing when it comes to adding to my wardrobe!)

style tip || Match shoe color, lip color & nail color to create an overall polished look!

Have a lovely weekend! Thanks for reading!

Nautical Inspiration

I'm amazed by how fast the month of August has flown by...why must summer always feel like the quickest season? While I am looking forward to stylish scarves, cozy sweaters, & boots of all styles for the fall season, I'll miss summer fashion's "little things" like white denim shorts, ankle-strap sandals, & nautical inspiration!

I'm still finding my way in establishing a new "life routine" post-wedding, & I still have a strong desire to see this blog be very much apart of that routine. A mission trip to Haiti, preparation for a best friend's wedding, & recording an album with my band are just a few of the things that consumed my summer, not to mention adjusting to (and LOVING) married life. {Reed & I are approaching 4 months in a few days!} My life feels like it's moving so fast, yet it feels so full. Having this blog to halfway keep track of it all will be something I know I'll look back on in the future with gratitude.

As always, thanks for stopping by! Have a beautiful weekend!

Little Red Dress

The "little red dress" -- arguably just as versatile as the "little black or white dress." I remember paying around $12 for this one at Forever 21 probably a year ago. I love the overall fit and where the neckline and hemline hit (both feminine and modest!). The accessories I incorporated into this look - specifically the white clutch and the blue cuff - will be making several appearances in upcoming posts. I never realized how versatile they were until I started planning outfits for the honeymoon!

{side note} I can't believe it's been almost two months since my last post - to say life has flown by since the wedding is an understatement! I'm looking forward to getting back into a blogging routine though! Stay tuned for new posts all week!

"Happy Monday" and thanks so much for stopping by!
