"Sweet Love" {Wedding Wednesday #3}
For my third Wedding Wednesday post (here are posts #1 & #2), I'm featuring the Sweet Love "sweets bar" I had at my wedding! Ultimately, all the credit for this amazing spread goes to my mom, from choosing the sweets to decorating and arranging them in the most darling way! She's amazing.
Rather than going for a traditional candy bar, we decided to create our own special coffee shop/bakery, calling it Sweet Love. At the coffee bar section, guests had the option of ordering regular coffee or our specialty drink, a vanilla chai tea latte (it's one of my personal favorite specialty drinks thanks to one of my bridesmaids, Amanda, who makes them better than anyone! oh, and Reed isn't a coffee fan, so that's why we went with my favorite!). Having just one specialty drink as opposed to opening up a full coffee bar definitely helped keep our costs down, yet still provided a special option for guests who wanted more than regular coffee or the other classic beverage options that we offered.
As for the sweets bar, it was fun to incorporate a variety of treats like cookies, cake pops, and cupcakes in addition to classic candies. Branching out from just using candy helped add lots of dimension and variety in both size and color of the different sweets bar items. I loved the center Eiffel tower as the anchor piece for the table and the use of different sized jars, bowls, cake tiers, hat boxes and the cute malt glass to display all of the sweet treats. The cute peach and mint table was painted by Reed and was the perfect display for all that sweetness!
"Sweet Love" was definitely one of my favorite details from our wedding - these photos bring back so many sweet (pun intended) memories! If you're ever in charge of creating a candy/sweets table, hopefully this post provided you with some inspiration! Let me know if it did! :)
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family! I'll be back next week with new posts! :) Thanks for stopping by!

The Perfect "Open Sweater"
- outfit details - sweater || Target open sweater || Target fleece-lined tights || Chinese Laundry boots || Calvin Klein bag || Phillip Lim for Target scarf || H&M rings || Forever 21 & Windsor sunglasses || Target lip color || MAC "Shanghai Spice" nail color || Essie "Chinchilly" |
A few reasons why I'm loving this open sweater from Target...
- The "oatmeal" color makes it a great neutral option that can coordinate with many outfits.
- Because of the "open" style, it can be easily layered on or off depending on fluctuating temperatures encountered throughout fall/winter days.
- The length of the sweater hits below the hips, so it looks great with leggings, skinnies, or fleece-lined tights (the shirt/sweater underneath the open sweater must hit below the hips though - that's my rule - and should be the universal rule - for leggings as "pants").
- The leather trim is the perfect detail to make the sweater feel on trend and more of a statement piece than a basic sweater.
Thanks for stopping by! To see this sweater styled a different way, check out this post from The Daybook!

Target Obsessed
-outfit details- top || Target (similar) jeans || Target (old) booties || Target bag || Phillip Lim for Target necklace || Francesca's Collections rings || Forever 21 & Windsor watch || Michael Kors lips || Covergirl LipPerfection "Hot 305" nails || Revlon Nail Enamel "Fearless" |
I wore this outfit to a Ben Rector concert Reed and I attended this past weekend. We LOVE Ben Rector. It was our third time to see him together, my fourth time total. We used at least 3 of his songs throughout the course of our wedding. We're just a little obsessed.
I've noticed lately on almost a daily basis that I've been answering "Target" for any given item of clothing or accessory I'm wearing. I'm literally wearing it head-to-toe in the outfit above. So I guess that means I'm just a little obsessed with Target as well. When I find a band/artist I love, I can't help but go all out. I have the need to get every album they've ever released (on our way home from the concert, Reed and I found an album by Ben that we didn't own and immediately proceeded to download it from iTunes). I guess the same can be said for stores I love. Within reason of course. I promise I haven't bought everything from Target's fall line :).
From a serious, practical standpoint though, buying multiple items from the same line or collection at any store can make creating outfits much easier, almost to the point where they create themselves! This is such a blessing when life gets hectic, just like it's starting to become with the holidays around the corner.
Holidays. Wow. Are we really this close to Thanksgiving and Christmas??? Heaven help us :)
Thanks for stopping by, I know I've slacked over the past couple of weeks! Thanks for bearing with me! :)
