Mint is so high on my color radar it's not even funny. I can spot it a mile away. Not. Kidding. People are starting to make fun of me it's so bad. Now, a lot of it has to do with the fact that it's one of my wedding colors. Even before that, though, I was pretty obsessed with this color. It's just so pretty and fresh - makes me think of spring and summer, my favorite times of the year!

A few notes for spring/summer...

  • Having a fitted blazer in a fresh spring color (mint, coral, yellow, kelly green, etc.) can instantly update your spring/summer wardrobe! You can style a blazer so many different ways -- casual (with jeans and a tee), feminine (over a sundress), or dressy (with shorts and a blouse), just to name a few!
  • striped tee is a wardrobe must! Stripes are never out of style. Having a few striped tees in neutral combos (cream/white stripe, gray/white stripe, navy/white stipe) will create tons of layering options with cardigans, blazers, etc. See this look for another way I've styled the striped tee from above.
  • Wedges are the go-to heel for spring/summer! In the comfort comparison, wedges definitely win over heels. I'm quite picky, however, when it comes to shopping for wedges. So many styles are very chunky looking, so I flipped when I finally found the pair above - I love the contrast of the leather straps with the canvas fabric. I'm already dreading the fact that I'll probably have to trash these wedges by the end of summer from wearing them so much.

I hope you all had a lovely Easter Sunday yesterday! Thanks for stopping by!

Fashion Show Fun

Here are some photos from the Beautiful Dream Society Traffic Jam Fashion Show I mentioned earlier this month! The night was filled with fabulous clothes, wonderful friends, inspirational speakers, and motivating passion to continue the fight again human trafficking! I strongly encourage you to visit www.beautifuldream.tv to learn more about the amazing cause this fashion show was supporting!

I'm so thankful to have my amazing fiancé by my side for events like these! Seriously, how HANDSOME is he?
These guys had some serious style/swag!
My co-perfomer Tremaine and I were on stage for our performance while the models walked around us!
I was nervous to bump into someone, but the performance went off without a glitch!
We performed the song "Twenty-Seven Million" by Matt Redman.
My amazing bandmates! Check out www.warracres.tv to learn more about our music!
This woman is my hero. She inspires me. She believes in me. Jennifer Crow is truly one of a kind!
She's the founder of the Beautiful Dream Society, and it's always an honor to partner with her.
Oh, and she's GORGEOUS.

I'm already looking forward to next year's fashion show! Thanks for stopping by!

Plum & Mustard

Top: JCPenney
Bottoms: Forever 21
Heels: Charlotte Russe
Bag: Steven Madden (via Ross)
Plum and mustard were two of my favorite fall colors that I'm just not ready to retire even though spring is here! I will try to keep posting here and there as much as I can during the next few weeks, though it may prove difficult since I'm getting married exactly one month from tomorrow! I never knew time could fly so fast! Happy Monday!

Traffic Jam Charity Fashion Show

Tomorrow night I will be performing a special song at the 3rd Annual Traffic Jam Charity Fashion Show for the Beautiful Dream Society (BDS). For those that don't know, BDS is a non-profit organization rescuing victims of human trafficking in Lesotho, Africa. More recently, BDS is working to do the same thing in my hometown of Oklahoma City, OK. I encourage you to check out their website for more information. I will be posting more about this incredible organization and my involvement with them in the near future, including my trip to Lesotho, Africa, last year.

I've been to this fashion show for the past two years, and each year is more phenomenal than the last! I can't wait to share my experiences with you next week! It's not too late to purchase tickets to the fashion show if you're in the area! Click here for more information!

Tea Time Bridal Shower {pt. 3 | the itinerary}

In this post I'll walk you through a brief overview of the itinerary of my "tea time" bridal shower! From start to finish, it was so memorable and fun!

The invitations suggested that guests dress for a tea party - hats & fascinators were encouraged!

Various tables were set up throughout the house with beautiful displays of delectable treats to accompany the tea. My grandmother and great aunt were gracious to loan their amazing collections of teacups and saucers for the tea party!

Guests picked up their pre-made name tags (made of doilies - how cute!) upon their arrival.

Teacup place cards notified guests where to sit.

My sweet cousin Tucker (pictured below) and his older brother Paxton were "servers" during the tea party. They were such gentlemen and did an amazing job making sure the guests had plenty of tea and refreshments!

Prior to the shower, my aunt asked Reed and me to fill out a questionnaire - favorite color, TV show, least favorite chore, etc. At the shower, she would read the questions with one of our answers. If the guests thought she read Reed's answer, they would hold up the mustache prop. If they thought it was my answer, they would hold up the lips prop. If they thought we had the same answer they could hold up both. It was quite entertaining to watch everyone's responses!

I'm still in awe of all of the details and how everything tied in together! I loved this bunting made of doilies!

My "seat of honor" was so beautiful that I almost didn't want to sit down!

Opening gifts was so much fun! Reed and I were blessed above and beyond what we could have imagined! I was grateful to have my MOH Katie by my side to help keep track of everything!

If you ever have the opportunity to throw a bridal shower, birthday party or just a fun get-together, I highly suggest having a tea party theme! I hope to host one of my own someday!
