Best "Flats" Scenario

Jacket: Forever 21 (similar
Top: Target
Jeans: H&M
Scarf: H&M
Bag: H&M
Flats: Charlotte Russe
Arm Candy: Nordstrom (spikes, squares)
Watch: Michael Kors
Sunnies: Betsey Johnson

As much as I love wearing high heels, I've had a little bit of a reality check lately with my back bothering me. I've heard that wearing heels on a regular basis can have a negative affect on your back, so I'm scaling down a bit (I could never give up my heels for good though! ;) ).

It's rare that I find a pair of flats that I truly love, but after finding a cute ankle-strap pair at Charlotte Russe a couple months ago, I'm more optimistic about incorporating flats into my wardrobe! Because of the neutral color and black trim, this pair is easy to style with a variety of outfits.

I'm getting spoiled with these great photos by my fiancé! He's so sweet to help me out! :)

Happy Monday!

high note: Fash Boulevard Feature

I was so pleasantly surprised to see my feature on Fash Boulevard's blog yesterday! I've been following Anna James for several months now after seeing her regular posts on laurenconrad.com. She has incredible style! Recently, she invited bloggers to submit a photo of an outfit incorporating the color mustard. I instantly thought of this post I had written a few weeks ago. Because of the immense popularity of her blog, I honestly thought my chances were slim to actually be featured, but thought it never hurts to try! Needless to say, it was so humbling to see my photo pop up as I scrolled through Fash Boulevard yesterday! I think it's really awesome that bloggers like Anna take the time to feature other bloggers and build community. I'm so grateful for the exposure it gave my blog and the new followers - friends :) - that came because of it!

I'm truly enjoying this blogging experience and hope that it will always be a source of inspiration and encouragement to everyone who stops by and follows along! Thank you so much for reading and coming on this journey with me!

A Heel Lover's Sneaker

Top: Charlotte Russe
Jeans: Target
Vest: JCPenney
Scarf: Nordstrom
Bag: H&M
Watch: Michael Kors
Sunnies: Forever 21
Shoes; DSW

Just in case the title of my blog hasn't given it away... I LOVE high heels! :) Needless to say, a high top sneaker with a wedge heel is kind of a high heel lover's dream! I was so intrigued with this new trend when I first saw it on one of my favorite blogs, Hello Fashion, and I continue to see different versions of this shoe style popping up on various blogs (ex: Brooklyn Blonde) and in some of my favorite stores. I had been searching for the perfect starter pair for the past month or so and couldn't pass up the pair I found on sale at DSW! This trend may not last for long, but it's fun - and comfortable - for the moment. Oh, and these photos were taken by my handsome fiancé! I'm so appreciative of his support in every aspect of my life! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Bridesmaid Orientation

I love to plan & organize, so "bridesmaid orientation" truly was a fitting title for this event!
We had such a lovely afternoon together at Pinkitzel...enjoy the pics! :)

Each bridesmaid had a personalized box waiting for her (check here for more info on the boxes).

The girls got to take home their bridesmaid dresses! (Francesca's Collections)

My mom did an AMAZING job with the decor...makes me even more excited for my wedding day!

I really do have the sweetest - and prettiest - friends/bridesmaids!

I love creating things that bring a smile to someone's face! :)

The boxes were filled with a few surprises!

My future sister-in-law lives out of town, but thanks to technology she could still be with us! :)

My favorite part of the boxes was the little "info packet" I made to put inside...

I was blown away by the staff at Pinkitzel...they went above and beyond to make this day so special!

I put a framed picture of me and each of the girls in the boxes!

My amazing MOH & best friend, Katie!

My mom and future mother-in-law joined us as well! What a beautiful group of girls! :)

Last, but not least, my amazing fiancé! He came to take pictures and say "hi" to all the girls...
He really is the BEST!!! :)

Thanks for continuing on this wedding journey with us!
Feel free to invite other friends to join in on the fun! :)
Thanks for reading & supporting!

Faux Fur Venture

Vest: Forever 21(similar)
Top: Old Navy (similar)
Jeans: H&M
Heels: Charlotte Russe (similar)
Bag: H&M
Watch: Michael Kors
Cuff: BCBGeneration
Necklace: Francesca's Collections
Sunnies: Betsey Johnson (similar)

The Forever 21 here in OKC had a GREAT sale over the weekend. I picked up 6 items for under $50, one of them being my first "faux fur piece" - a suede, faux fur vest! I like to try new trends in small doses, so this vest was the perfect starting point for the faux fur trend. Blue gingham helped pull the whole look together.

I have some fun posts in the works for the rest of this week, including the special get-together I had with my bridesmaids earlier this month! Stay tuned! :)

Thanks for stopping by & have a lovely day!

Head-to-Toe

Hat: Target
Sweater: H&M
Jacket: Old Navy
Jeans: Target
Boots: Old Navy
Bag: Steve Madden (via Ross)
Gloves: Target

I wore this outfit a couple of months ago to go horseback riding with some friends. Later that day, Reed proposed! :) (I didn't post any links because most of these items were purchased more than a year ago.) This outfit is definitely an exhibit of my love for Target, Old Navy, and outfits on a budget! I'd venture to say this look from head to to cost less than $150, and all of these pieces are great basics that can be incorporated into a variety of other outfits.

Happy Monday & thanks for reading!

Bridesmaid Box

Parting with these boxes was not easy, but I was so happy to give one to each of my bridesmaids (and flower girl!) at at our "bridesmaid orientation" yesterday! I can't wait to share more photos from the actual get-together later this week.

I had seen similar "bridesmaid boxes" on Pinterest and was inspired to do my own version. Each box was individually decorated in the colors of my wedding. Inside, I put together a little "information packet" that included...
  • A list of the bridesmaids & contact info (name, phone #, email, twitter)
  • A list of the groomsmen
  • Wedding Day details
  • Important dates
  • The official wedding hashtag

Each box also contained a framed picture, a box of sweethearts with a custom label, and nail polish. The boxes, paint, lace, wooden letters, gold glitter glue, clothes pins, ribbon, flowers, and frames all came from Hobby Lobby. The nail polish is from Forever 21. I created the design of the info packet and candy label myself.

Making these boxes was truly one of the funnest craft projects I have ever done! I've always loved making personalized gifts for loved ones, so it was a no-brainer for me to do something special like this for my bridesmaids!

I love being able to share my wedding journey with you! Thank you for reading!
